Yay it's true,
Yesterday I felt like drawing another irrimiri comic, and I made some time (thanks to Coen who also encouraged me!)

Waaay to busy to draw one earlier haha. This one was squeezed in just now, lol.
In a moment we will rush out to my boyfriend's parents. Our cat Chip will come with us ^^

Since I haven't been drawing irrimiri comics since the Dutch Sinterklaas celebration last year (that was around the beginning of december), I received a 'complaint' of a fan! haha. 
I really love the comic she sent me. It's drawn by Janneke Kluit.

I had to show of course.
For now I don't know exactly when I continue my comics again. I know I will continue them, but it's so busy around here I can't find the time nowadays. So I guess people who enjoyed the comics will have to be a bit more patience :D
But she will be back, no doubt about that! I pwomise ^^

The Sinterklaas celebration is a typical Dutch celebration (which btw is also celebrated in parts of Belgium). 
In a short summary: It's about an old (very old) guy who is a Saint, called Sinterklaas, who lives in Spain, and comes to the Netherlands each year with his friends/servants, the Pieten. Every year kids really look forward to the birthday of this Saint that will take place the fifth of december. Then the kids that were sweet this past year will get tons of presents from him and his Pieten, and the kids who misbehaved this year will be taken into the empty bag of Zwarte Piet (which was previously filled with presents), and taken back to Spain as a punishment. 

Still I can hear people think: "Why would irrimiri be taken back to Spain, and why not Morrel or Mekker. I think they are way worse then Irrimiri was with her candy attack"  But I think this is the answer: Irrimiri is punished for not teaching her pets how to behave. So that might explain her punishment. I hope she is oké back there in Spain though O.O

Some Sinterklaas customs:
Put a carrot in your shoe for the horse of Sinterklaas in the evening. Together with a poem or drawing or whatever you want to give either Sinterklaas or Zwarte Piet. Put the shoe in front of the chimney (if you have one) and sing a song for Sinterklaas (if you can sing a bit). 
Next morning the shoe stuffings will be gone, and you will receive a present in your shoe, or pepernoten, or both ;D

Another one today!!
I wanted to post it tomorrow morning, but I already figured that we don't have much time tomorrow morning, so I post it now already.

Tomorrow Coen and I will go to the comic convention in Houten, in the Netherlands
Coen and I are being (together with a lot of other cool comic artists) published in a new gag-magzine named 'Strook'. 
Coen will feature his Ninie-comics, and I will feature my irrimiri-comics in it. We will sign them, and we are also going to visit other booths like Stripster and Clickburg. I will also sign at the Clickburg stand, so I have to go back and forth, lol.
The latter organisation is also interesting because of a contest.
Clickburg features web-comics and web-comic artists, and every year they have a contest of best web-comic of the year in different categories.
Irrimiri made it (to my big surprise)  into the shortlist of the categorie gag-comics *whoot*.
I don't think I will win, considering the tough competition, but just being nominated feels like an honour to me, haha.

Anyway, here is a comic, related to tomorrow's convention.

Well, Even though I got some great (even animated!!) entries for the contest, I am affraid there is a sudden change of plans (in your advance I hope, lol)

Because of a sudden, and also unexpectantly important, Sinterklaas commission (dutch people, don't raise eyebrows, I am aware it's not at all Sinterklaas yet, lol),  I have to change the deadline for the irrimiri guestcomic contest a little bit.
The deadline, which would have been tomorrow, is going to take place in about two weeks. I will set the date on june the 14th. I know, it's not really professional behaviour. My apologies for that, but it doesn't mean there will be no contest at all xP

So for the people who didn't find time to enter something yet, this will give you a little bit more air to breath.

I hope that the people who already entered won't mind waiting a little bit more. But I don't want to be unprepared for the finish of this contest. That would be a shame. The guest comic pages will be created soon.

To walk in the footsteps of Matt ( bunnyman_) (who is the creator of a really cool comic about bunnies, and currently is having a contest himself)  I am organizing a small contest for my irrimiri comic. And anyone who likes to draw something for it can participate.

Because of my birthday next week and also because I reached comic #100 already I want,ed to celebrate it with something fun. I was walking with this idea for quite some time now, but when I finally drew #100, I didn't have time to actually organize something for it.
But now I DO have time, so here it is.

Sorry for the delays of Irrimiri's. I just can't find the time for it at the moment. This month is just NUTS!!
But I will try to comfort you guys with showing you a sketch I made a long while ago. Irrimiri and friends in Chibi style. 
I plan to ink this one too some time, when I have enough time.
The planning is that I have a new comic up the first of march, or so I hope. Fingers crossed, because then I should have enough air to breath :D
But the 'being busy part' is a good thing for me.

For those of you that don't know.
The original irrimiri-comics are actually dutch. I also translate them because I am silly hehe. And ok ok, because a lot of my english fans don't read dutch for some odd reason O____O
I still don't get why, lol *kidding*
This comic actually kinda translated ok, but the dutch version is wittier. That's because we use the word 'witch' as a verb in dutch when we say ' I can't work miracles'. So in dutch she says ;" I can't witch" ( Ik kan niet heksen) , which of course should be funnier because she IS a witch and... and... well I guess you got the idea.
Ok, that's enough dutch lessons for you today.

Hey there,

Look what I got in the mail box!!!

  



A friend of my mum, Edith Taylor a fantasy artist who happens to like my Irrimiri characters *grins*, sculpted Irrimiri and Morrel out of clay and made them into a pair of keychains.
She told me I'd better not use them though because they are fragile and might break, but I am not going to. I am going to be very careful with them. They are so funny!

It's really cool. I had to laugh about the way they look. I adore the pose of Morrel and I especially like the two long hairs on Irrimiri's head.  You could call them antennas too if you like, but they are actually based on my own peeky hairstyle :P 
I always have some bits of hair standing upwards too, haha. Can't help it, just grows that way.  Except for today, because today I have been walking in the rain and I was quite drowned afterwards. It tamed the hair. ^____~

Anyway, I just really had to share this.

It doesn't translate as cool as it normally would this time. That's because the scentence that's translated from Dutch is actually a dutch saying. 'Wie niet horen wil, moet maar voelen'.  It's like, if you don't stop being annoying, you'll have to bear with the consequences.

Irrimiri and Morrel feature in a real horror comic.

But because I am not sure how much of you like horror comics or horror at all I put it behind a cut.
It's two pages of suspense (ahum) , with a big big wink to the ultimate horror movie 'The Ring'
This short comic was officially done for Bloeddorst (translated: thirst for blood) a horror comic book that soon will be published. Initiative taken by Menno Kooistra. All kinds of dutch cartoonists, famous and less-famous, have gathered to be able to create this book of filth, cruelness, fear and despair. It's such a cool idea.
I entered this comic at first, but it was a bit too sweet to be in the book, sooooo I entered another comic. But that one will be a secret for now.

Anyway, I hope I got you curious for the story now
